Volcano-induced die-off paved way for dinosaurs

I thought you'd like this recent article that appeared in the LA Times last week,  More than 200 million years ago, toothy crocodile-like creatures stalked a hot, dry mega-continent while squid-like mollusks with spiral shells drifted in the surrounding ocean. Then, in what passes for an instant in geologic time, they vanished — making way for the age of the dinosaurs.  Click on the link below to view.

The docents from the Saint Louis Museum of Art hosted this year’s symposium. The entire 4 days were superbly organized and most enjoyable. The pre-symposium events, the opening events, the break out sessions, the offsite workshops, the pre and post tours, the food and the first class hotel (The Ritz Carlton) were outstanding!
