Please join us for the UCLA Cotsen Institute of Archaeology Open House on Saturday, May 14, from 1-4 pm.
All our Research Laboratories and Archives will be open to the public from 1-4 pm. There will be a children's activity room, Virtual Reality Demonstrations, and Fowler Museum will offer guided tours of their exhibits.
Unfortunately, due to circumstances beyond our control, Dr. Jo Anne Van Tilburg will not be able to deliver her lecture as advertized.
We are pleased to announce the lecture by Dr. Alexei Vranich at 2 pm in the Lenart Auditorium.
"The Lake Titicaca Reed Boat Experiment"
Archaeologists test the feasibility that reed boats were used to transport multi-ton stones across lake Titicaca from volcanic quarries to the megalithic city of Tiwanaku, Bolivia.
Parking is available for $10 in Lot 4 (Sunset and Westwood Blvd).
